Members Update 28th February (extra)

SPOT THE BEE FLY 28TH FEBRUARY 2022 ‘EXTRA’

The main reason for this extra to yesterday’s update is to forward the selection of photographs promised by Ian from their holiday in Tenerife which he has kindly forwarded today, a really nice collection Ian and thank you for sharing them with us.

Before looking at the photos, I would like to know from all if you received legible copies (or not) of my Bee Fly Word document, - for example, Bernard received a rather jumbled copy, however both Jenny and I received perfect copies. Please let me know if you had problems.

Now for Ian’s comments and photos:

“I have tried to identify the LBJ's as far as I can by using my bird books. There are two shots of a small grey bird that I could not identify.

I apologise for the quality of the shots; I was obliged to use my 600mm lens handheld. I couldn't get close enough for a shorter lens.

Sadly, we did not see the blue Chaffinch.

If anyone can correct my identifications I will be very happy. Kind regards,     Ian”

Ian, - a great set of photos and certainly no apologies necessary!     Thank you.

I asked Ian if they managed to see the endemic Blue Chaffinch, unfortunately they did not, so prompted me to dig out my photo of one taken in 2008!

Thanks again Ian!
